Patrick Errol Lloyd, 69, of Silver Spring died May 23, 2009, at his home.  

Born July 4, 1939, in San Diego, Calif., he was the son of the late Merrill L. and Helen W. (Kramer) Lloyd.

He was the husband of Helen Yun Lloyd.

Mr. Lloyd served in the Navy from 1956-1966. He was a member, usher and Eucharistic minister at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Silver Spring. He was a Fourth degree knight with the Knights of Columbus – Father Rosensteel Council 2169, and later traveled worldwide with the atomic clock for the Naval Observatory. Survivors in addition to his wife include a sister, Carol Anne L. Murphy and husband, Dennis of South Carolina, one niece, one nephew and five great-nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 10103 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, immediately followed by military honors at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Aspen Hill.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Lung Association.
